Family Respite Reimbursement

The Family Support Respite Reimbursement Program helps pay for respite services for individuals with a developmental or intellectual disability that live in Tioga and Tompkins Counties.  Families may hire people they know and trust or find care providers through Racker’s list of trained staff.   

Eligibility:  To be eligible for Family Support Respite Reimbursement, the individual with a disability will: 

  • Live in either Tioga or Tompkins county 
  • Have OPWDD eligibility  
  • Live with a family member and/or caregiver and be eligible for Family Support Services  

The Family Respite Reimbursement Program is not available to people living in certified settings including IRAs, Family Care, Foster Care, Adult Homes or those that live independently. 

How to access: Requests are typically made with the support of a Care Manager, however, families can also self-refer by completing an application for assistance.
