Community Support Services are specialized programs funded by NY State for individuals that have OPWDD eligibility. Programs & Services Include:
Autism & Sensory Needs
- Autism Lending Library – Our library is full of items participants, families, and caregivers can borrow or even try before they buy. Click here for more information
- Creating Sensory Friendly Spaces– Our knowledgeable staff are available to help you design a sensory friendly space at home or in a qualifying business. Click here for more information
Behavior Supports
- Supporting Success provides education and consultation both at home and in the community to families and service providers to support individuals with challenging behaviors. Our Behavior Specialists use a variety of toys, strategies, stories, and routines to meet the individual needs presented. Click here for more information
Financial Support
- Resource Network/Family Resource Fund- Financial Assistance is available for qualifying expenses. Click here for more information
- Family Reimbursed Respite- Families and caregivers select a qualifying provider (friend, neighbor, etc) and may be reimbursed for respite services. Click here for more information
Self-Advocates
- Self-Advocacy Program – Other Voices of the 607 is Racker’s Self-Advocacy group where individuals connect and learn how to impact their own lives as well as the lives of those in their community. Click here for more information
- Self-Advocate Education– Various educational series are offered to individuals with disabilities that focus on teaching self-advocacy surrounding personal safety, relationship building, and social skills. Click here for more information
Parent/Family Education
- Parent Network provides presentations on various educational topics offered to help support parents and caregivers. Click here for more information
Service Eligibility Support
- Service Access provides support with accessing services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Help with understanding services available, connecting with providers, and gathering required documents is available for those seeking eligibility for services provided by the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD.)
