Resource Network
The Resource Network is flexible financial assistance that is available for parents and caregivers of individuals with a developmental or intellectual disability, of any age, who live at home. The purpose of the fund is to enhance a family’s ability to provide care to their family member and prevent or delay out of home placement. Financial support is designed to complement other sources of support, and cannot pay for goods or services that can be provided through other resources such as Medicaid, health insurances, Department of Social Services, food pantries or local grants or funding sources.
Eligibility: To be eligible for support from the Resource Network the individual with a disability will:
- Live in Broome, Chenango, Delaware, Otsego, Tioga or Tompkins county
- Have OPWDD eligibility
- Live with a family member and/or caregiver and be eligible for Family Support Services
- Exhaust all other funding resources for the needed goods or services
Resource Network funding is not available to people living in certified settings including IRAs, Family Care, Foster Care, Adult Homes or that live independently.
How to access: Requests are typically made with the support of a Care Manager, however, families can also self-refer by completing an application for assistance.
