Specialized Autism Services
Racker serves individuals with diagnosis within the autism spectrum through many programs and services including early intervention, preschool special education, child care, the autism lending library, service coordination, family resource programs, and residential services. In our site-based preschool setting we serve children on the spectrum in an integrated classroom setting.
An Intensive Integrated Classroom Program for Preschoolers
Program: The Partnership Program is an intensive model of classroom instruction in an integrated setting, specialized for preschoolers with autism and related disorders. Our educational methods are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), which have been found effective for teaching children of all abilities and diagnoses and has a large body of research demonstrating its effectiveness for children with autism.
Location: Currently Racker has two Partnership classrooms, one in Tompkins County and one in Cortland County, wherein the principles of ABA are employed, however, children with autism, behavioral needs and other developmental disabilities are served in all of our preschool and childcare classrooms in an integrated setting.
We will work collaboratively with families, school districts and other relevant community members to plan each child’s transition to kindergarten. The program’s emphasis is on preparing the child for success in kindergarten and future school situations.
For more information about the Ithaca PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM, please contact Annemarie Mattison at (607) 272-5891, ext. 362.
